Violating a Personal Principle
Aug. 9th, 2006 07:58 amWell, I have finally given into the temptation and started a Live Journal account, thus violating a personal principle (which I will not presently explain) that I would not start a blog or LJ this year. Unfortunately, an all-nighter of typing out frustrations into the word processing program (and the subsequent lack of judgment resulting from sleep deprivation), has led me to abandon this particular principle in order to post these thoughts publicly. In my half-awake state of mind, it seems almost an interesting experiment to see just how much attention a new Live Journal actually gets. Given the post that will follow, I'm curious how many nasty (or friendly) responses I'll get (if any), because for some strange reason this seems like a really good empirical experiment.
Of course, several hours from now (after I have hopefully gotten a few more hours of sleep), I'm sure I'll look at my posts and say, "What the heck was I thinking?", but for now it sounds like a perfectly rational idea.
So enjoy my first post (this one) and, for those of you who inadvertently stumbled across this, feel free to ignore my second one (or not), as it will be a post written from a night of frustration.
