So What the Heck Do I Believe?
Feb. 7th, 2007 10:54 pmI recently stumbled across an interesting test, and I would be curious to see what other people think of it and how they scored.
The Philosopher's Magazine Taboo Test
The test measures your feelings about morality in relation various things that make people feel squeamish or go "yuk". Personally, I did do a **huzz** for a couple of them, but didn't find anything morally offensive about other people doing the acts described. I wouldn't do the things described, but if it floats their boat, all the more power to them ‒ which means that this really wasn't a morality test for me. To paraphrase Jonathan Haidt, if you accept other people having diverse opinions on a subject, then it's probably not a moral issue for you (think of it this way: would you tolerate diverse opinions on serial killing or genocide?) ( So here are my results: )
