My *Fabulous* New Dinnerware
Feb. 8th, 2009 09:50 pmAs for me and my household, we tend to be a clumsy lot. Over the past few months I have watched in dismay as my dinnerware has been committing suicide in the death-by-a-thousand-shards manner. I have done a rough count, and the death toll seems to be no less than 11 items in the past five months. Blame it on the narrow counter space, or the weird design of my drainer that is perfect for small glasses to tumble through when you're least paying attention.
So rather than lose my favourite flatware to the precariousness of daily usage, I went shopping tonight...to an Asian grocery store. And there I found cheap, sturdy, plastic dishes that I hope will last much longer and be cheaper to replace. And they're microwave safe...at least I think it says somewhere that they are. We'll have to nuke one and see if it does the brilliant colour display or turns my microwave rack into a pile of plastic goo. ;P
So without further ado, please bask in the beauty which is my new table setting:
